VietNamNet Bridge – A Vietnam Airlines flight on Sunday afternoon from the central city of Vinh (Nghe An province) to Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam Airlines was delayed due to an emergency because of two passengers’ threat of having a bomb on the plane.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of August 30 at Vinh City Airport. At 4.20pm, the aircraft VN1265 was about to take off when it was requested to stop in an emergency as two passengers said there was a bomb on the aircraft.

All passengers were asked to leave the plane for a security check on the plane while the two passengers were handed over to airport security for investigation.

The authorities said they did not find any bomb or explosives on the airplane.

Nguyen Thanh Son, Vietnam Airlines representative in Nghe An province, said the flight was delayed for 30 minutes.

Under aviation rules, the two passengers will be penalized.

Several similar cases have occurred in Vietnam and the passengers involved were banned from flying for a certain period and had to pay fines.
