National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has announced the inaugural flight on March 28 of a new non-stop service route between Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai, China.

This brings the total number on non-stop flights Vietnam Airlines operates from either Hanoi or HCM City to Shanghai to 14 per week, said the airline in a prepared statement.

According to the statement, the opening of the new non-stop route HCM City-Shanghai is a step forward in Vietnam Airlines’ plan of expanding its route network to the critical Chinese market.

It also evidences the airline’s strategy to make Vietnam a new regional aviation hub via the two gateways of Hanoi and HCM City.

Vietnam Airlines hopes that the additional new non-stop service will provide passengers with comfort and convenience and help diversify its products, enhance its competitiveness and contribute to the promotion of trade and tourism thanks to a more convenient flight schedule.

On the occasion, Vietnam Airlines is proud to offers highly discounted round trip tickets for business-class on the HCM City-Shanghai route at US$550 (VND12,375,000) each, excluding taxes and fees, for flights departing this upcoming April 16-30.
