Mr. Nguyen Tien Hoang, head of Vietnam Airlines branches in France and Europe, said the resumption of the joint venture agreement between Vietnam Airlines and Air France will give customers more flight options and optimize products and services between France, Europe and Vietnam, contributing to the recovery of the post-Covid-19 aviation industry.

Air France will operate codeshare flights with Vietnam Airlines' Hanoi - Paris flights, with six flights/week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, using the modern wide-body Airbus A350 aircraft.

Vietnam Airlines will operate codeshare flights on Air France's Ho Chi Minh City - Paris flights with flight numbers AF258 from Paris to Ho Chi Minh City and AF253 from Ho Chi Minh City to Paris on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The two carriers also cooperate in providing services synchronously with their product lines to meet the diverse demands of the passengers.

France is one of Vietnam Airlines' largest and most important markets in Europe, since opening the first direct flight to Paris in 2003. In 2019 Vietnam Airlines transported 570,000 passengers between the two countries.

A joint venture agreement between the two carriers was implemented in 2017. However, their flights were suspended due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
