Up to 51 restaurants in Vietnam will join the Gout de France, a cuisine festival, this year, making Vietnam among the five most active countries to take part in this event, said French Ambassador to Vietnam Bertrand Lortholary at a press meeting on March 18.
According to the organizing board, 2,500 French-style dinners will be served during Gout de France 2019, the French gastronomy event, which takes place from March 18 to 24.

According to Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary, 2,500 French dinners will be prepared at restaurants and French embassies in 150 countries around the world. The festival also includes a photo exhibition of French cheese and ham products that will remain open for three months starting March 21.
This is the fifth year that the gastronomic event Gout de France has been held simultaneously in many countries around the world to introduce the French cuisine to the world community.
French dishes in Vietnam will be prepared by professional chefs trained in France with the use of ingredients from both France and Vietnam to ensure the hygiene and food safety standards of high-class restaurants.
Within the framework of Goût de France, there is also a French-style breakfast event in Ho Chi Minh City in order to connect entrepreneurs in the food industry, a seminar on a balanced and healthy diet, the introduction of a French culinary training program in Vietnam, a photo exhibition on typical French cheese and cold meat products, and the screening of films about French and Vietnamese cuisine, among others.
