Under the newly announced plan, universities and colleges must publish their 2027 admissions information on their official websites before December 31, 2026.
The ministry requires institutions to provide complete, transparent and publicly accessible information so prospective students have sufficient time to prepare their applications.
The information must also ensure fairness in admissions and consistency in the proposed selection methods.
The Ministry of Education and Training is expected to issue amendments and supplements to the university admissions regulations in November 2026.
According to the timetable, applicants must review their upper-secondary school academic records on the admissions system before 5 p.m. on June 6, 2027.
From June 17 to 21, students will be able to practice registering and adjusting their university preferences on the system ahead of the official application period.
For the 2027 admissions cycle, candidates will register and modify their university and college preferences through the National Public Service Portal, using the centralized admissions support system.
The official registration period will run from 9 a.m. on July 1 until 4:30 p.m. on July 13, 2027.
From August 6 until 5 p.m. on August 10, the centralized system will process applicants' preferences to determine the highest-ranked choice for which each candidate qualifies in the first round of admissions.
This process is designed to match eligible applicants with their highest-priority available choice under Vietnam's centralized admissions system.
Higher education institutions must review the records and admission results of successful applicants before 5 p.m. on August 11.
First-round admission cutoff scores will be announced after 5 p.m. on August 12, 2027.
Once the results are released, successful candidates must complete their first-round online enrollment confirmation through the admissions system before 4:30 p.m. on August 19, 2027.
However, the ministry emphasized that the dates in the overall admissions plan remain tentative and may be adjusted.
The Higher Education Department will serve as the coordinating body responsible for monitoring implementation, urging relevant institutions to meet deadlines and reviewing progress.
It will also coordinate with other agencies and arrange contingency time to ensure the admissions process proceeds as planned.
