According to the General Statistics Office (GSO), the country witnessed a production volume of 351,100 units in December this year, marking a decrease of 0.8% from November, but up 4.4% against the same period from last year.
In the fourth quarter up to one million motorbikes were produced locally, representing a rise of 33.3% from the third quarter and indicating an annual increase of 19.8%.
Experts attributed the rise to the domestic market’s strong recovery after being heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, local manufacturers offered a wide range of products from domestic assembly to imports, including manual motorbikes, scooters, and motorbikes with high engine displacement.
The volume of motorcycles assembled for exports also contributes significantly to the total growth in terms of the number of motorcycles assembled in the nation.
