Vietnam dominated the match from the opening whistle and Chu Van Tien opened the scoring for the Vietnamese side in the first minute.

Minutes later, Quoc Hung doubled the score for Vietnam. Before the first half closed, Vietnam scored thrice more.

After the break, Vietnam continued to heap the pressure on, scoring four more goals and maintain a clean sheet to win 9-0.

Among many glittering performances, Thanh Tin stood out with a hat-trick.

With this win, Vietnam rank second in Group B, behind Thailand who crushed Timor Leste 14-0.

Vietnam are expected to enter the final of the event which will last until November 11.

On Tuesday, Vietnam meet Timor Leste.

The AFF event has been divided into two groups. Myanmar are in Group A together with host Indonesia, Malaysia and Cambodia. Group B comprises of Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei and Timor Leste.
