VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam crushed the Philippines 6-1 in the fourth match of Group A at the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U-16 Championship on Saturday following their 4-2 loss to hosts hosts Indonesia last Thursday.

They controlled the game from the whistle and Van Thong opened the scoring in the 20th minute, before Quoc Hoang and Van Chung made it 3-0 at half time.

After the break, Vietnam extended their lead with two goals from Hoang and one from Ngoc Thanh. The Philippines found a consolation in the 50th minute due to an error by Vietnamese goalie Van Viet.

Vietnam will next meet Myanmar today.

The AFF tournament will be a warm-up for Vietnam to prepare for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-16 Championship to be held in Malaysia in September.
