The book festival will feature around 100 booths showcasing nearly 40,000 book titles by 80 publishing houses and printing companies nationwide.

The publications are of various genres and include children’s books, books on literature, economics, science and technology, ebooks and books in foreign languages, all of which will be sold to visitors at discounted prices.

On the occasion, numerous events will be organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. They include but are not limited to book festivals, exhibitions, book streets, book exchanges, contests, discussions, seminars, workshops and other such activities.

The annual event aims to respond to the Prime Minister’s decision on selecting April 21 as Vietnam Book Day.

Vietnam Book Day honors the role and importance of books in education and social life as well as promotes reading culture in Vietnam. It also celebrates people who are involved in book publishing and distribution, such as authors, editors, publishers, distributors and librarians.
