The Vietnamese delegation has bagged three more gold medals on the second official competing day of the 28th SEA Games, which is taking place in Singapore.

The shooting team grabbed one gold in the men’s 10-metre air pistol team discipline with 1,727 points, followed by Thailand with 1,704 points. Meanwhile, the women team gained 1,112 points and stood at fourth place in the Women’s 10-metre Air Pistol Team.

Later, Tran Quoc Cuong won one gold medal in the men’s 10-metre air pistol individual category. His companion Hoang Xuan Vinh pocketed bronze medal while the silver went to Jonathan Wong from Malaysia.

In the afternoon, Duong Thuy Vi also got the title in the women’s optional straight sword discipline with 9.7 points. In the previous Games, it was Vi who struck the first gold medal for the Vietnamese team, also in the same discipline. Last year, the Hanoi girl won the only gold medal for Vietnam at ASIAD-17.

As of 5:30 pm, Vietnam ranked third in the medal tally with 16 gold, six silver and 17 bronze medals.
