Doan Van Hau and Tran Dinh Trong have returned to the Vietnam national team after several years away, while Dinh Bac is not included in the latest training camp.
“Congratulations to the eight players called up to the national team. Contributing a large number of key players once again affirms the position and squad quality of CAHN (Hanoi Police FC) on the Vietnamese football map,” CAHN announced on the evening of March 10.
Accordingly, the eight CAHN players selected by coach Kim Sang Sik for the Vietnam national team are goalkeeper Nguyen Filip, defenders Dinh Trong and Doan Van Hau, midfielders Thanh Long, Viet Anh, Quang Vinh and Van Do, along with star midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai.
Among these players, the most notable development is the return of Van Hau and Dinh Trong after several years away from the national team. Both were key players for Vietnam’s U23 team and the national squad during the tenure of coach Park Hang Seo.
The return of Van Hau and Dinh Trong is considered well deserved. In recent matches, both players have shown impressive form for CAHN.
Van Hau, in particular, produced a spectacular moment when he scored from midfield in CAHN’s 3-1 victory over Thanh Hoa in the rescheduled Round 10 match of the V-League 2025/26 season.
Meanwhile, Dinh Bac is absent from this call-up for the Vietnam national team.
The decision is understandable, as he is currently serving a two match suspension after receiving a red card during the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup finals in the match between Vietnam U23 and South Korea U23, where Vietnam eventually secured the bronze medal.
From Thep Xanh Nam Dinh club, two players were selected by coach Kim Sang Sik: defender Van Vy and striker Nguyen Xuan Son.
The Vietnam national team is expected to gather for training soon and will have five days to prepare for a friendly match against Bangladesh on March 26 at Hang Day Stadium.
Following that, Vietnam will face Malaysia in an important match on March 31 at Thien Truong Stadium in Ninh Binh.
