Representatives from UNSC member countries condemned acts of violence, attacks, and kidnappings aimed at civilians, especially women and children, and asked the government of Haiti and opposition political parties in the country to enhance dialogues towards political consensus for the upcoming elections.
They highly valued the role played by the BINUH in assisting the Haitian government in political dialogue and constitutional reform, and asked the international community and countries to continue support for the country in addressing current challenges.
Established in 2019, the BINUH is responsible for advising the Government of Haiti in promoting and enhancing political stability as well as many other areas. The UNSC holds regular meetings every 4 months to hear reports on the office’s operation./.VNA
