The 2025 Sepaktakraw World Cup took place from March 20 to 25 in India, gathering the strongest teams from around the world.

Entering the final match of the women's quadrant event, Team Vietnam faced a formidable challenge against Thailand, the most decorated team in Sepaktakraw history.

Despite the daunting opponent, the Vietnamese women displayed remarkable resilience and unwavering determination.

After three intense sets, Vietnam triumphed over Thailand with a 2-1 victory (15-12, 12-15, 15-13), officially becoming world champions.

This remarkable win marks the first time the Vietnamese women's team has defeated Thailand in a World Cup final, breaking Thailand’s long-standing dominance in the sport.

To reach the final, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen, Nguyen Thi Yen, Nguyen Thi My, and Tran Thi Ngoc Yen had an impressive journey, defeating strong opponents like South Korea (2-0), Myanmar (2-1), and France (2-0).

Their excellent coordination, tactical planning, and enduring fighting spirit led the Vietnamese women to a well-deserved victory.

However, with remarkable progress and an indomitable fighting spirit, the Vietnamese athletes have achieved an extraordinary feat, bringing pride to the nation's sports community.

In the men's quadrant final, Vietnam fell to Thailand with a score of 0-2 (1-15, 9-15), securing the silver medal.
