Earlier in the afternoon, Hoang Thi Lan secured the second gold of the day for the pencak silat team after beating her Indonesian counterpart 5-0 in the women’s 55-60kg final. The first gold was secured by Diep Ngoc Vu Minh in the men’s under-50kg event.

Vietnamese rowers wrapped up their SEA Games competition on the morning of June 14 with their final gold medals won by Nguyen Van Linh in the men’s 1,000m lightweight singles; Ta Thanh Huyen and Pham Thi Thao in the women’s 1,000m lightweight doubles; Le Thi An and Pham Thi Hue in the women’s pairs; and Cao Thi Hao, Pham Thi Hue, Tran Thi An and Nguyen Thi Trinh in the women's light-weight quad sculls.
With a collection of eight golds, four silvers and one bronze, Vietnam’s rowing team finished second overall in this year’s SEA Games, far exceeding the gold-medal target of four and only just placing behind Indonesia due to fewer silver and bronze medals won.
On the same day, Vietnam also won an additional 10 silver medals in rowing (3), taekwondo (2), pencak silat (4) and cycling (1), as well as one bronze in rowing.
Concluding Sunday’s competition, Vietnam maintained third place in the SEA Games medal standings with 73 golds, 51 silvers and 56 bronzes. Thailand remained on top with 87 gold medals, while Singapore ranked second with 82.
