Vietnam has been placed in Group IV with Thailand, China and Yemen for the 2016 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship season.

The draw conducted at the Asian Football Confederation in Qatar seeded the top 16 FIFA ranked Asian countries and split them into four groups.

The AFC draw placed host Qatar in Group I with Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

Group II includes the Republic of Korea (RoK), Australia, Japan and the UAE.

Syria, Iran, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Uzbekistan are in Group III.
