VietNamNet Bridge – The national men’s football squad has dropped 12 notches to 145th in the latest July rankings of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA).
Without any matches to play during the month, Vietnam also lost out to Thailand in the race to maintain top position in Southeast Asia.
Thailand jumped four notches to 138th topping the Southeast Asian rankings after their impressive 5-1 win over China in a recent away friendly.
The underdog Philippines also made progress, finishing second in the region just after Thailand.
In the world’s rankings, Brazil has returned to the top 10 after jumping 13 notches to 9th thanks to its winning the Confed Cup 2013 championship title.
Spain still ranks first with 1,532 points and Germany second with 1,206 points.
