During the Francophonie Summit in Paris on October 5th, the Global Vietnam and La Francophonie Forum 2024 (OGVF 2024), organized by the Global Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts, highlighted Vietnam's significant role within the Francophone community.

One hundred experts and scientists from various fields discussed the future prospects of the Francophone community and Vietnam's critical role within it. Professor Nguyen Duc Khuong, Executive Director of EMLV Business School and President of the association, emphasized Vietnam's active and pivotal role in fostering multidisciplinary cooperation within the community.

OGVF 2024 focused on dialogues about Vietnam’s geopolitical, economic, technological, educational, health, and cultural strengths, aligning with the visions of developed countries like France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, and developing regions in Africa.

Professor Nguyen Duc Minh, Vice President of the Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences, praised the initiative to organize OGVF 2024, recognizing overseas Vietnamese intellectuals as envoys connecting Vietnam with the world.

The Party and State greatly value the contributions and advice from overseas Vietnamese intellectuals, which are incorporated into resolutions like Resolution 45, aimed at utilizing human resources to enhance Vietnam's role and position in various sectors such as green growth, circular economy, and technology development.

At the comprehensive view session, delegates discussed the Francophonie in the context of globalization: challenges and prospects.

Jean-Lou Blachier, President of the Francophone Business Association, relayed remarks from French President Emmanuel Macron, affirming the Francophonie’s global influence and the desire to intensify cooperation among member countries for robust economic development.

Professor Pierre Féniès from the University of Paris Panthéon Assas discussed Vietnam's key role in electronics component manufacturing, suggesting that Vietnam focus on reusing and recycling components to manufacture new mobile phones.

He highlighted Vietnam’s potential to play a significant role in transitioning to a sustainable logistics model, capable of exporting not only in Africa but also in Europe.

Dominici Matteo, Chairman of Merja Zarka and responsible for social and governance issues at Terrafrica-Tech, Morocco, underscored the cooperation among French-speaking countries, particularly in renewable energy and new technologies.

He emphasized the cultural and linguistic ties as valuable assets to strengthen relationships between France and other Francophone countries, especially in Africa and Asia, including Vietnam.

Martin Francis, President of the French-Vietnamese Lung Association, noted Vietnam’s recent achievements in healthcare, where French healthcare experts have had opportunities to collaborate with Vietnamese physicians for training.

Professor Vo Trung Toan, a rehabilitation doctor in France, shared his experiences of teaching French to Vietnamese doctors studying and interning in France. He highlighted the Francophonie's role in facilitating Vietnamese access to healthcare systems and disease traceability.

The forum had the honor of hosting several delegates in a meeting with General Secretary and President To Lam on the morning of October 5th. “Talent must not only exist in theory but act in practice,” stated Dinh Thanh Huong, Executive Director of Knowledge and Projects at AVSE Global, emphasizing the role of diaspora in fostering patriotism and innovation.

These discussions reflect the growing ties and the diverse potential for cooperation within the Francophonie, spotlighting Vietnam's evolving role as a key player in global economic, cultural, and technological exchanges.
