VietNamNet Bridge - Vietnam is best mover of the Asian Football Confederation in December 2011 as the national team climbs 35 places to 99th position in FIFA ranking.

This is the first time after seven years that the country enters the world top 100. This is also the first time ever Vietnam passes Thailand to top ASEAN region in the table since 1993.

Vietnam's great jump in the FIFA ranking table is much contributed by three victories (one against Qatar and two against Macau) in World Cup 2014 qualifiers. These wins earned the national team 272 points, more points than Thailand have earned for last 4 years.

Earlier, Vietnam entered to world top 100 twice, in September 1998 (86th) and September 2004 (96th).

Meanwhile, Spain ranks first, followed by the Netherlands and Germany. Uruguay has the fourth position, the highest ever so far.
