The Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) has unveiled its 2026 tournament calendar, featuring a significantly expanded lineup that includes more than 10 professional tournaments, 7 amateur events, and 6 junior competitions. The announcement marks a strong step forward in both scale and structure for Vietnamese golf.

This season will see the continued growth of both the VGA Tour and the VGA Development Tour, with over 10 professional tournaments confirmed. The increase in events reflects the growing momentum and professionalization of golf in Vietnam.

A key highlight is the Vietnam Masters - Vietnam’s oldest professional golf tournament - which will remain part of the Asian Development Tour (ADT) for the third consecutive year. This not only cements Vietnam’s foothold on the regional golf map but also underlines the sustainable progress of its domestic golf scene. With total prize money exceeding 2 billion VND (approximately 85,000 USD), the Vietnam Masters continues to offer the highest purse in the country.

Another major highlight for 2026 is the return of the National Sports Games (Đại hội Thể dục Thể thao toàn quốc), making its comeback after a four-year hiatus. The event will serve as a prestigious stage for top-level golfers across the nation.

On the amateur front, the VGA Union Cup stands out as the most anticipated event. Modeled after globally recognized formats like the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup, the Union Cup is a North-South team competition featuring Vietnam’s top single-handicap players. Participants compete in Foursomes, Four-balls, and Single Match play formats, creating an intense yet sportsmanlike rivalry.

The junior segment is also undergoing a notable transformation. The 2026 VGA Junior Tour will implement a new tier-based structure and updated points system to enhance competitive development. The tour will include six Tier 1 events, each raised to an international standard and open to elite junior golfers from across the Asia-Pacific region.

This strategic expansion of the tournament system - across professional, amateur, and youth levels - demonstrates the Vietnam Golf Association’s commitment to long-term development, aiming to raise the country’s profile in the regional and global golf community.
