According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the country’s average price of exported rice during the reviewed period reached US$559.5 per tonne, marking a 15.6% increase over the same period last year.
October alone witnessed Vietnamese rice exports reach 635,102 tonnes worth US$406.76 million, up 4.9% and 7.7% in quantity and value month on month. The figures represent an annual decline of 10.9% in quantity and an increase of 34% year on year.
According to statistics, the average export price throughout the reviewed period stood at US$640.5 per tonne.
The Philippines made up the largest buyer of Vietnamese rice in 10 months with 2.63 million tonnes, while Indonesia and China ranked second and third, with 1.03 million tonnes and 883,967 tonnes, respectively.
The export price of rice on November 14 remained stable. According to the Vietnam Food Association, the exported price of Vietnamese 5% broken rice stood at US$653 per tonne, while the price of 25% broken rice hovered at around US$638 per tonne.
