The festival aims to strengthen mutual understanding between the two nations and bring Vietnamese people living in Japan closer together, said Deputy Ambassador of Viet Nam to Japan Nguyen Truong Son at a press conference last week.

According to the organisers, this year’s festival will include an exhibition of over 100 booths, including 60 food booths and 40 booths offering souvenirs. The event will also feature art performances in an effort to introduce Viet Nam’s history, culture and people to the Japanese people.

Tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy Vietnamese food, cultural programmes and art performances. The event is expected to attract 150,000 visitors. Last year, the event saw 200,000 visitors, the highest ever.

Apart from culinary and cultural exchange activities, the festival will feature performances of talented artists from Japan and Việt Nam. In addition, shows highlighting the áo dài (Vietnamese traditional long dress) will be staged at the event.
