The final competition day saw Vietnam win two more gold medals, presented to trio Nguyen Thanh Nam, Phung Viet Dung, and Pham Ngoc Thach in the men’s 50m rifle three positions, and to trio Vu Tien Nam, Ha Minh Thanh, and Pham Xuan Chuyen in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol.

Earlier, the Vietnamese marksmen bagged nine gold medals in various competition classes.

Hosts Chinese Taipei took the lead with 18 gold, nine silver, and four bronze medals. Malaysia were placed third, grabbing eight gold, nine silver, and 10 bronze medals.

The 45th Southeast Asian Shooting Association Championship attracted 150 athletes from nine regional countries, including 19 Vietnamese marksmen who had competed at the recent 19th Asian Games (ASIAD 19) and the 15th Asian Shooting Championship.

The tournament began on November 8 and lasted through to November 16.
