The contest is organised by Blue Sky Vietnam and Ngoi Sao Moi, two of the region’s leading agencies in entertainment and fashion modelling.
The contest is open to single people aged 18 to 30 who are at least 1.70m tall (for men) and 1.60m (for women).
The jury includes Miss Vietnam Ocean 2014 Dang Thu Thao and experts from the Vietnam Federation of Weightlifting and HCM City Weightlifting & Bodybuilding Federation.
Thirty-six candidates will be selected for the final round in September in HCM City.
At the semifinals to be held in early July in Hanoi, Da Nang, Can Tho and HCM City, the contestants will compete in the categories of fitness performance, sports talent, swimsuits and question-and-answer sessions.
They will also take part in social and charity activities to encourage the public, particularly youth, to maintain good health by doing sports.
The winners of Vietnam Fitness Model 2016, Ton Tuyen and Manh Kien, will lead contestants during the contest’s selective and semifinal rounds.
Kien has returned home after winning a golden medal for Mr Physique and a bronze medal for Men Sport Model under age 24 at the Nabba WFF in Singapore in May.
Tuyen has been invited to join the Miss Asia in India in August.
This year’s event has total prize of 590 million VND (over 26,000 USD), of which the two first prize winners will take home a 100 million VND prize (4,500 USD) each.
Selective rounds will begin on July 1 in Hanoi and HCM City.
