VietNamNet Bridge – A flag-raising ceremony of the Vietnamese sports delegation was held in Nanjing, China, on August 15 where the 2013 Asian Youth Games is taking place.
Attending the event were Lam Quang Thanh, Deputy Head of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and head of the Vietnamese sports delegation, Vietnamese athletes and coaches and officials and players from other Asian countries.
Vietnamese diving, weightlifting, judo, badminton, table tennis and tennis teams are present in Nanjing. The national taekwondo team will be the last to fly to China on August 18 for competitions.
Vietnam plans to send 101 athletes to compete in 14 out of 17 sports at the Asian Youth Games.
With a total of 400 athletes, Thailand has the biggest number of competitors at the event.
The 2013 Asian Youth Games will officially open on August 16.
