The Vietnam Gaming Idol Club (VGIC) has officially been launched with the goal of building a professional and sustainable community for gaming content creators.

The debut took place on March 18 as part of the Hall of Fame 2026 event, organized by the Vietnam Recreational Esports Association (VIRESA).

Do Viet Hung, Vice President of the Asian Electronic Sports Federation, President of the Southeast Asia Esports Federation and Chairman of VIRESA, said the club aims to develop a disciplined and professional ecosystem for gaming content creation.

“Vietnam Gaming Idol Club is established to build a community of gaming content creators that is professional, disciplined and sustainable,” he said.

According to Hung, the club will focus on training a new generation of livestream idols and gaming streamers with strong professional skills, while also forming a comprehensive support ecosystem - from content production and personal branding to career orientation in the digital environment.

As livestreaming and digital content creation increasingly emerge as new career paths for young people, building a well-structured community is expected to foster a healthier development environment, limit inappropriate content and expand job opportunities in the digital economy.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Tu, head of the Vietnam Gaming Idol Club and Director of DAKE TCN, said the club aims to recruit 500 new members each year and organize more than 20 small- and medium-scale tournaments to create practical training environments and evaluate members’ capabilities.

“The club will standardize streamer training processes, improve the quality of content creators and strengthen cooperation with technology companies, digital platforms and media organizations to expand development opportunities for members,” she said.

VGIC is expected to open a new approach to training digital skills for young people, particularly in areas related to gaming, livestreaming and digital commerce, contributing to the development of Vietnam’s esports and livestream ecosystem in a more modern, transparent and sustainable direction.

In the context of a rapidly expanding digital economy, the model is seen as an important experiment in connecting the gaming community with new career opportunities, while also enhancing the image of Vietnam’s esports industry in its next stage of growth.

The launch coincides with several notable milestones for Vietnam’s esports sector. At this year’s program, VIRESA awarded Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to athletes who achieved outstanding results in international competitions, contributing to the development of the national esports ecosystem.

The event also featured the Vietnam Esports Awards 2025, honoring athletes, organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements.
