The agreement was reached during talks in Berlin on July 4 between Cornelia Rogall-Grothe, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior of Germany and General Tran Dai Quang, Minister of Public Security of Vietnam.
The two sides agreed to share information and experience in combating organised crime, transnational crime, drug-related crime, and high tech crime, while boosting the training of high-tech crime and criminal staff to further cooperation between the two ministries.
Both host and guest acknowledged progress in combating crime, especially in implementing Vietnam-Germany agreements on cooperation in dangerous and organised crime, and on readmission of citizens.
General Quang noted that since Vietnam and Germany established diplomatic ties nearly 40 years ago, bilateral cooperation in politics, economics, culture, social affairs, security and defense has been continuously strengthened, contributing to sustainable and stable development of each country.
