A representative from the Search and Rescue Agency under the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said on March 15 that Vietnam ceased all search activities for the missing Malaysian Airlines plane.
The decision was made following a Malaysian declaration that it was calling an end to all search work in the East Sea and Vietnam’s territorial waters and focusing on other suspected areas.
At a press conference on March 15, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak could not confirm nor deny that the missing plane MH370 was hijacked. However, the reporting systems for data was disabled and the vanish of the aircraft appears the result of “delibrate actions”.
Malaysia will move to search two areas – a northern corridor stretching from border of Kazakhstan and Turkestan into northern Thailand and a southern corridor stretching approximately from Indonesia to the southern Indian Ocean.
