Police in Lao Cai Province have handed over 19 Chinese nationals accused of online fraud, along with all seized evidence, to the Public Security Bureau of Honghe Prefecture in China.

On June 30, Lao Cai Provincial Police said they had coordinated with the Lao Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station to transfer the 19 Chinese suspects, who allegedly used the internet to carry out online fraud, to the Chinese authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Earlier this month, authorities discovered that the group had entered Vietnam from Cambodia through the Moc Bai International Border Gate in Tay Ninh Province before traveling to Lao Cai.
The suspects rented multiple rooms at the Song Hong View Hotel on Duyen Hai Street in Lao Cai Ward, where they stayed while allegedly conducting fraudulent activities.

Investigators identified the group as consisting of 19 individuals who had previously engaged in online fraud operations in Cambodia. The group was allegedly led by Wang Xiang Sheng, born in 1981, from Fujian Province, China.
According to police, the group's targets were Chinese citizens seeking loans. The suspects allegedly posed as employees of financial applications, guiding victims through loan procedures before defrauding them of their money.
On June 12, while the suspects were allegedly carrying out the operation, police officers raided the Song Hong View Hotel and arrested all 19 individuals.
At the scene, authorities seized 23 laptop computers, 26 mobile phones, eight 5G signal transmission devices, 16 USB drives and other related items and documents.
