VietNamNet Bridge – The Embassy of Vietnam in India held a conference on cultural communication between the two countries in New Delhi on December 10.

The event was part of bilateral cultural diplomatic activities with the participation of Vietnamese journalists and folk artists as well as representatives from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication.
At the conference, delegates highlighted the sound traditional friendship between Vietnam and India.
They agreed that communication plays a significant role in introducing, promoting and connecting the cultures of Vietnam and India.
Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Loi, member of the executive board of the Vietnam Journalists Association and editor-in-chief of the journalists magazine, said through the press channel, Vietnam has introduced its unique culture to international friends.
The organisation of conferences and academic exchanges creates a good opportunity for the country to promote its image to the world, including India, he added.
Director of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication K G Suresh expressed his admiration for the Vietnamese people’s historical tradition against foreign aggressors and national construction and protection.
He underlined the crucial role of communication in increasing mutual understanding between the Vietnamese and Indian people.
On the occasion, the embassy held an art programme re-enacting Vietnam’s traditional religious practice of worshipping mother goddesses which was recognised by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2016.
