Shaso Misao, 60, had come to Vietnam to teach Japanese, but could not stop thinking about her mother, who has dementia, living alone in Japan. She has convinced her mother, Sasho Shizue, to live with her in Hanoi.

They together found a whole new life in the heart of the Hanoi Old Quarter in front of the Cheo Theatre, where local traditional musicals are performed.

The film is expected to see its last scene’s shooting on December 31, 2015.
