VietNamNet Bridge - The Hanoi Off-road Car Club has introduced the first international off-road tournament in Vietnam under the RFC system. The event will take place in June in Tuan Chau resort, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province.
From the success of the 2012 Halong Challenge competition for Vietnamese riders, the first international off-road car race in Vietnam this year will be also held in Ha Long.
After 15 years in Vietnam, off-road car racing - the new sport to Vietnamese fans - will have the first international tournament this June. The tournament will attract 25 local and foreign clubs.
The Vietnam Challenge RFC 2013 has officially joined the international competition system of the famous Rainforest Challenge of Southeast Asia. This is a worldwide system, with the major event is organized in Malaysia in every December.
Coming to Hanoi to participate in counseling, monitoring the process of preparation for the tournament, Mr. Luis Wee, director of the Malaysian RFC said that RFC admitted Vietnam as a new member because the true passion of Vietnamese drivers and the natural terrain of Vietnam, with over 3,000 km of coastline. He said there are two ideal elements for the development of off-road car racing, as well as to organize really attractive tournaments.
After successfully organizing the Halong Challenge 2012, this year Tuan Chau resort will continue host the Vietnam RFC 2013. This year's race will be much tougher with international standard terrains. Riders will compete on different terrains: on the yard of Tuan Chau resort, around the camp and the natural terrain of the rainforest.
The competition will take place from June 1 to 5. It promises to be a fascinating sport and entertainment event, and an opportunity to promote Vietnam's nature to the international community and off-road car racing fans.
