The models will show off clothes from the latest collections created by foreign and domestic fashion houses and garment companies.

This year, VJFW will feature 40 collections for boys and girls, mostly ready-to-wear designs, created by eight fashion designers.

The designs use high-quality materials and will be offered at reasonable prices.

Talented designers such as Rabity, Phương Nguyễn, Den Nguyen and Kelly Bùi will join the event.

Nearly 90 amateur fashion models aged from four years old to 13 will be featured during the two-day event.

Organised by a group of fashion designers and stylists from HCM City, the VJFW aims to encourage Vietnamese fashion houses, companies and designers to develop their child clothing business.

The VJFW 2016 featured more than a hundred designs for children and teenagers offered by foreign and domestic brand names.

Several thousands parents and children followed and shared their comments on websites and online forums.

“Our organisers have worked to make VJFW not just about catwalks but also a place to offer opportunities for Vietnamese fashion designers and companies to develop their brand names and their sales,” said fashion model Xuân Lan, one of the members of the event’s organising board.

“Our casting for the catwalk began last week. We hope both children and parents will be entertained after joining our shows,” she added.

Lan said she and her staff will seek new talent for the catwalk through the event. “We will help the kids to develop their professional skills for the future,” she said.

Lan owns CA3, an institute of modelling and acting, which offers training courses for fashion modelling, catwalking and photography.

The VJFW 2017 will begin on March 24.
