Forty-two lacquer paintings created by 14 Vietnamese artists will be on display in Seoul Arts Center in Seoul, Republic of Korea (RoK) on July 15-20.
Twelve works among them are made with traditional lacquer technique by Ha Anh Tuan, Nguyen Duc Viet, Nguyen Nghia Dau, Nguyen Tan Cuong, Nguyen Hiep Anh Ha and Duc Hung.
Modern technique was used to create the remaining 30 lacquer paintings by Nguyen Truong Linh (gold prize winner at National Exhibition of Fine Arts 2010), Tran Phi Truong, Nguyen Hai Nam, Do Khai, Pham Thang Long, Hoang Huu Van, Ngo Hai Yen and Dang Hien.
The exhibition, co-organized by Hanoi’s Art Tunnel Gallery and the RoK’s HanseaYes24, is expected to boost cultural exchange between the two countries, and promote Vietnam’s culture to Korean and international friends.
