According to New York-based international organisation Best Diplomats which serves as a platform for young leaders to exchange ideas and resolve the most challenging global issues, Vietnam is best known for its beauty, rich culture, and delicious cuisine, and is placed in eighth position among the Top 10 safest countries in Asia.

This year sees Vietnam’s peace index stand at 1.745. The country’s crime index score of 41.8 and safety index score of 58.2 further reinforce its reputation as a safe place to visit.

One of the safest and most famous places to visit in the nation is Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is renowned for its limestone islands and emerald waters. The bay is a popular destination for cruises and kayaking, Best Diplomats wrote.

Another safe and popular destination is Hoi An, an ancient town known for its architecture, colorful lanterns, and food. The town’s compact size makes it a safe and an easy place to explore on foot. Finally, Vietnam’s capital of Hanoi, is also widely considered to be a famous destination among travelers, it recommended. 

Topping the list is Singapore whose peace index stands at 1.332, its crime index stands at just 23, while its safety index is 77.

Japan is the second safest country in Asia. The country’s peace index is 1.336, its safety index stands at 77.3, and the crime index is equally impressive at just 22.7. 

The third position goes to Bhutan with the country’s remarkable peace index being 1.496. Others to feature in the Top 10 safest countries in Asia consist of Malaysia, Qatar, Taiwan (China), Kuwait, the Republic of Korea, and Mongolia.
