The visit represents a concrete step in implementing Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, as well as the external relations orientation set out by the 14th Party Congress. Vietnam aims to contribute actively and responsibly to peace, cooperation and sustainable development, while also helping address common regional and international challenges.
According to Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung, in line with General Secretary To Lam’s recent article titled “Advancing comprehensive diplomacy to a new height,” this new stage is reflected in Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts to promote peace in the Middle East and ensure the fundamental national rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to establish an independent state.
The trip also helped strengthen Vietnam’s relations with the host country and international partners, including Middle Eastern nations.
During exchanges, the General Secretary reaffirmed Vietnam’s views on the Middle East peace process and the Palestinian issue, underscoring the perspective of a nation that has endured great sacrifice and loss in war and consistently strives for peace.

International and host country media highly appreciated Vietnam’s role as a founding member of the Peace Council on the Gaza Strip and the General Secretary’s participation in the meeting.
Observers noted that Vietnam’s engagement reflects its foreign policy line and desire to contribute to global peace and development, as well as international recognition of its standing and capacity to contribute.
In discussions, the General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam would make practical contributions, such as participating in peacekeeping activities to help ensure stability in Gaza, as well as humanitarian assistance and post-conflict reconstruction efforts.
In the host country, General Secretary To Lam met with US President Donald Trump, received US Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer, held phone talks with US legislators and met with members of the Vietnamese community.

Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung said Vietnam will study and implement a roadmap for the peace plan in three main directions.
The first is to stabilize the situation in Gaza and ensure the implementation of the ceasefire. The second is to carry out long-term reconstruction, beginning with meeting essential needs, restoring infrastructure and gradually developing various economic sectors. The third is to build institutional foundations and enhance the administrative and governance capacity of Palestinians in Gaza.
“We will carefully assess and identify areas where we can participate, as we have done in UN peacekeeping operations, which have been highly appreciated by the United Nations. Our military and police forces could join UN peacekeeping missions, contribute to maintaining security and social order in Gaza, or provide training for local police forces,” Minister Le Hoai Trung outlined.
Vietnam could also take part in humanitarian and reconstruction activities, areas in which the country has considerable experience.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that Vietnam will contribute to the efforts of other international partners, including countries and international organizations, particularly UN agencies.
“We will continue to participate in or support initiatives by countries within and outside the region to enhance peace in the Middle East, peace and stability in the Gaza Strip, and especially to ensure the fundamental national rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to establish their own state,” he affirmed.
