According to the magazine, younger kids are able to enjoy sedentary trips to numerous beach towns and islands, while older kids can visit historic cities and enjoy adventure activities on the water and inland in the hills.
“A beach holiday is the obvious choice for babies and toddlers. Book into a resort and you can stop worrying about the crowds and traffic and concentrate on enjoying the warm weather and tropical mood,” Lonely Planet noted.
It also added that Phu Quoc Island is a dreamy choice that boasts excellent infrastructure, gorgeous beaches, and resorts suitable for all budgets. There are places such as the Disney-inspired VinWonders theme park and waterslides of Hon Thom Nature Park which can be reached via the world’s longest overwater cable car ride.
Furthermore, the magazine noted that both toddlers and babies can have fun with the water puppets and Ho Chi Minh City ‘s water parks.
The travel publisher suggested that foreign families should visit the nation’s former imperial capital to introduce kids to the rich Vietnamese history and take in Hue’s pagodas and temples, with their colourful deity statues and ornate gateways.
“A boat ride along the Perfume River to the imperial tombs and the Thien Mu Pagoda is another rewarding family adventure,” it stressed.
Lonely Planet also recommended that Ha Long Bay and its calmer neighbours Lan Ha Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay offer plenty in order to engage active teens.
They can also go kitesurfing at Mui Ne, enjoy the beach scene in Nha Trang, and take a trek in the hills in Sa Pa, it suggested.
