VietNamNet Bridge – The National Futsal Cup is scheduled to kick off at Rach Mieu Gymnasium in HCM City on December 21.

The three-day competition involves eight leading teams from around the country, notably Thai Son Nam, Tan Hiep Hung, Sanna Khanh Hoa, and Thai Son Bac.
The opening match, semi-finals and final will be broadcast live on the The Thao TV channel.
Trophy prize includes a check for VND50 million (US$2,270).
The event's best athletes will be scouted for the national team's roster for the Asian Futsal Championship final in Uzbekistan in February.
Ninh Binh hosts International Chinese Chess Tournament
The International Chinese Chess (Xiangqi) Tournament began in the northern Ninh Binh Province on December 15.
Twenty domestic and foreign players, such as masters Nguyen Hoang Lam, Trenh A Sang and Lai Ly Huynh, are playing in Groups A and B.
The tournament, which aims to help the domestic players hone their skills and gain experience, will end on December 20.
The winner will walk away with a prize of VND30 million (US$1,360).
Golfers compete to support poor
The AMD Golf Challenges 2015 – Swing for the Poor will be organised at the FLC Samson Golf Links in Thanh Hoa Province on December 26-27.
More than 300 golfers, both semi-professionals and amateurs, have registered to compete for total prize money of nearly VND20 billion (US$889,000).
Apart from the awards for the top finishers, the organisers also offer big bonuses for athletes with four Hole-in-One contests with the winners walking away with a luxury car and membership cards to play at different gold courses.
All cash collected from competitors will be given to a fund that supports poor people in Yen Dinh District, Thanh Hoa Province.
