VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam’s U22 football team has failed to proceed to the final round of the 2013 Asian U22 Tournament after loosing to Malaysia 0-3 on June 30.

Malaysia’s first goal was scored by Rahman in the second half.

In the last minute of the match, Vietnamese striker Quoc Phuong received a red card and was forced to leave the game. Taking advantage of that, Malaysian players applied attack tactics and successfully scored two more goals.

Led by chief coach Lu Dinh Tuan, the Vietnamese team have three points after four matches (one win and three losses). They do not have enough points to qualify from Group G to the next round of the competition.

Three teams from Group G are still in the running for the two qualifying places; Myanmar (10 points after four matches), Malaysia (9 points after three matches), and the Republic of Korea (7 points after three matches).

Taiwan and the Philippines, along with Vietnam, do not qualify from Group G.
