On the morning of August 15, the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order (C06) under the Ministry of Public Security launched a pilot “Smart Police Station” kiosk. Operating around the clock with multilingual support, the station is located at 89 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, beside Hoan Kiem Lake.

Major General Nguyen Manh Hung, deputy director of C06, said the Smart Police Station kiosk is one of the models within a multipurpose kiosk ecosystem designed to harness population data, digital identification and electronic authentication to provide people with more convenient, secure and efficient services.
During the pilot phase, the Smart Police Station offers five main groups of functions: filing reports and complaints related to public security, urban order and overcharging when shopping; emergency SOS calls; warnings about criminal tactics; searches for police offices; and legal questions and answers.
For example, people who encounter overcharging while shopping around tourist attractions can use their ID card or passport to log in and access the Smart Police Station’s reporting and complaint function.
Inside the booth, users can describe an incident by voice, with an AI-powered system analyzing and recording the information. The station then automatically classifies the report and forwards it to the responsible police unit.
Notably, users can attach video clips and images as supporting evidence when submitting a report, helping police handle cases more quickly and accurately.

The information is subsequently recorded in the Ministry of Public Security’s reporting and complaint handling system and forwarded to the police unit responsible for receiving and resolving the case. Authorities can then proactively contact, guide and assist the person concerned.
For domestic and international visitors, the Smart Police Station also provides an SOS function for emergencies, enabling people to quickly contact local police.
“The ability to assist foreign visitors through a multilingual system also helps enhance Vietnam’s image in the eyes of international friends,” C06 leaders emphasized.
According to C06, the Smart Police Station is intended to do more than simply provide another channel for people to submit information. The model aims to establish an end-to-end process covering the receipt and recording of reports, their transfer for handling, assistance for users and updates on outcomes, helping improve transparency and efficiency in processing reports and complaints.
C06 also said Hanoi is the first locality in Vietnam to pilot this digital transformation model. In the coming period, relevant units will continue researching and refining the system while integrating more services and utilities linked to population data, ID cards, and VNeID digital identification and electronic authentication.
