During his meeting with Putin, Hung thanked the Russian president, government and people for the warm and thoughtful reception extended during the recent visit to Russia by To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of Vietnam, and his wife.

Hung said the Vietnamese government would direct ministries and agencies to swiftly implement the important outcomes of the visit, translating them into specific and practical cooperation programs.

Putin said he was pleased with the results of To Lam’s visit and expressed confidence that the agreements reached would be implemented effectively, helping further advance the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.

In his meetings with leaders of other countries and international organizations, Hung discussed a range of issues aimed at strengthening and deepening Vietnam’s relations with its partners across various fields.

The leaders expressed their appreciation for Vietnam’s socioeconomic development achievements and reaffirmed the importance they attach to relations with the country, saying they wanted cooperation to become increasingly substantive and effective.

The presidents of Indonesia and the Philippines, the prime minister of Malaysia and Hung agreed to continue close coordination and contribute to the success of ASEAN in 2026, when the Philippines holds the regional grouping’s chairmanship.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres praised Vietnam’s growing role and international standing and expressed hope that the country would continue making active contributions to promoting multilateralism and addressing global challenges.

World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus welcomed Vietnam’s new policies and initiatives for developing its healthcare system.

He said WHO stood ready to work alongside Vietnam to help achieve its healthcare development goals as well as its broader objectives for sustainable socioeconomic development.

Hung’s meetings and exchanges with leaders of countries and international organizations during the 18th BRICS Summit helped strengthen political trust, advance bilateral cooperation and enhance coordination at multilateral forums.

The engagements also created further momentum for Vietnam’s relations with its partners and opportunities for international cooperation in support of the country’s development.
