VietNamNet Deputy Editor-in-Chief Hoang Thi Bao Huong and Director of the Central Press Distribution Company Hoang Manh Anh signed an agency contract to develop paid users for the VietNamNet Premium service.

On June 15, 2021, VietNamNet launched VietNamNet Premium – a digital product with in-depth, exclusive and high-quality content.

Unlike news that is updated every minute, VietNamNet Premium offers an in-depth approach to all kinds of information and issues that arise in society. Each article covers a big problem in society, but originates from small stories of normal life.

VietNamNet Premium aims at a new style of journalism, investing in information quality and value. Each issue is considered from many sides and aspects, is fully reported, and offers readers insight into what things mean, and interpreted in a way that is easy to understand.

“With this paid service, the newspaper’s operation has changed. The new production method results in a new form of publication. We did not have the publication of electronic newspapers before but now we have it. The successful cooperation of the two sides will open up new paths and new markets. There will be not only publication of newspapers, but also the publication of data,” Tuan said.

Vietnam Post General Director Chu Quang Hao said that since December 2019, Vietnam Post has assigned its subsidiary - Central Press Distribution Company - to research the platform serving the collection of subscription charges of electronic newspapers through the post office.

“VietNamNet has caught up with the development trend of electronic newspapers in the world and is the first online newspaper in Vietnam to invest methodically in collecting subscription fees as a basis for building quality content. With the advantage of being a national postal corporation with a wide service network and reputation in service deployment, we are committed to accompanying VietNamNet and quickly building a business plan. We aim to have 3,000 users in the first month, and 10,000 after 3 months and quickly reach 1 million users as soon as possible through the Vietnam Post system," said Hao.

After the signing ceremony, Vietnam Post officials registered 80 user accounts for the VietNamNet Premium service to serve leaders at all levels of the corporation and 63 local postal directors.

In the context that the Government and ministries and agencies, especially the Ministry of Information and Communications, are drastically implementing "digital transformation", the cooperation between the two units under the Ministry of Information and Communications will maximize the strengths of each party, strengthen mutual cooperation and together heading to long-term and sustainable development.

In particular, the cooperation will set a new development milestone for changing readers' habits, serving as the foundation for Vietnam’s paid news.
