Earlier, Vietnam Post proactively informed users on June 4 about a ransomware attack that occurred at 3:10 a.m. the same day, targeting its IT infrastructure.

In response, Vietnam Post swiftly activated its contingency plan, working closely with the Department of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications) to minimize disruption and ensure customer satisfaction.

The Corporation expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of various agencies, including the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05) under the Ministry of Public Security, as well as support from VNPT, Viettel, CMC, FPT IS, and other technology partners.

Thanks to these collective efforts, Vietnam Post successfully contained the incident, safeguarded data, and progressively restored its system. By 10:00 p.m. on June 7, the IT system serving customers and managing operations had been fully restored, with all service-related activities functioning normally and no financial losses reported.

Moving forward, A05 will continue to gather evidence for further investigation and prosecution of cybercrimes.

Vietnam Post extended gratitude to the Ministry of Information and Communications, Department of Information Security, A05, and partners for their support and guidance throughout the recovery process.

A representative of Vietnam Post also thanked the technical team, employees, customers, and partners for their unwavering support and trust during this challenging time.
