This is President Sang’s first State-level visit to China and the first State-visit by a senior Vietnamese leader after China elected a new leadership, said the Foreign Ministry spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi in a regular press conference on June 13.
The visit aims to reinforce political trust, friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and States. It will help chart the future course for the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership, for the development of the two countries, and for peace, stability and development in the region.
President Sang is scheduled to hold talks with President Xi Jinping and meet with other senior Chinese leaders. The two sides are expected to sign a number of cooperation agreements.
He will also visit Guangdong province.
At the recent forum to promote comprehensive economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam -China, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, Ho Thi Kim Thoa said China continues to be the number one trading partner of Vietnam with import-export turnover in 2012 reaching $41.1 billion, up 15.2 percent compared to 2011.

In the field of investments, as of May 20, China had 913 valid projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of $ 4.7 billion, ranking 13th out of 92 countries and territories investing in Vietnam, she added.
