VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam always gives top priority to consolidating and strengthening special ties of friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Laos, considering the relationship an invaluable asset for future generations.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement at a reception for Laos Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad in Hanoi on April 7.

He praised Deputy PM Somsavat’s visit to Vietnam localities and considered it a good chance for the two sides to exchange experiences in socio-economic development and review the implementation of signed agreements. It is also part of the activities for the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year 2012.

PM Dung spoke highly of Laos’ achievements in recent times and expressed his pleasure with the fine development of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in all fields. He added that the two countries have actively carried out a wide range of activities to mark the Friendship Year.

Deputy PM Somsavat attended the opening ceremony of Hue Festival in the evening on the same day.
