The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Toursim has stepped up tourism promotion through domestic and foreign channels during the ongoing DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit Vietnam.

The ministry has coordinated with the Hanoi People’s Committee in a promotion programme on the CNN television channel which has attracted hundreds of millions of views over the past days. 

Besides, multiple articles about the summit with key words like “Hanoi” and “Vietnam”, along with images and information about local tourism, have been published. 

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and real estate conglomerate Vincom have also used this occasion to advertise their international services, thus contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam. 

According to Deputy General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Ha Van Sieu, the meeting between the DPRK and US leaders in Hanoi is significant event of global relevance. The VNAT considers the event an opportunity for Vietnamese tourism to introduce the nation, people and tourist sites of Vietnam through the media.

The hosting of the meeting is expected to enhance Vietnam’s prestige in the eyes of international friends, helping attract more tourists to the Southeast Asian country.

Along with showcasing famous destinations of Vietnam at the International Media Centre in Hanoi, the VNAT has designed tours inside Hanoi and to Ninh Binh, Ha Long Bay and Sapa for reporters, said Sieu.-VNA
