A new set of postage stamps on the theme of the 2012 London Summer Olympics has been issued by the Ministry of Information and Communication.

The four-stamp set, each unit measuring 37 x 37 millimetres, features four of the 26 sports in which Vietnam will be competing in the Olympic Games, including weightlifting, fencing, gymnastics and taekwondo.

The colourful swirls in the background represent the spirit of the Olympic Games.

The stamps are issued in respective VND2000, VND3500, VND8500 and VND12000 denominations.

The stamps, designed by painter To Minh Trang of the Vietnam Post, aim to promote the 2012 London Summer Olympics, which will take place from July 27 to August 12.
