To prepare for the tournament, the players have been training in China for a month, where they have played three friendly matches.
They also took part in the Suwon JS Cup 2018 in South Korea from April 18-22.
“My players have improved in terms of skill and mentality thanks to these preparations, and are ready to challenge themselves in the upcoming games,” said Tuan.
Vietnam will play in Group A with Thailand, Singapore, Laos, the Philippines and hosts Indonesia. Group B features Malaysia, Myanmar, Timor Leste, Cambodia and Brunei.
Vietnam will play Thailand on July 1, the Philippines on July 3, Laos on July 5, Indonesia on July 7 and Singapore on July 9.
The team will leave for Indonesia on June 29.
