“In recent days, we’ve witnessed many touching moments as international friends and tourists have stood shoulder to shoulder with local people and authorities in Vietnam, offering help in various ways.

The South Central region of Vietnam recently suffered a historic flooding event that caused widespread destruction to lives, homes, and public infrastructure, particularly in Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, and Lam Dong provinces.
More than 100 people have been confirmed dead or missing. Thousands of homes were seriously damaged, while hundreds of families lost their houses entirely due to collapse or washout. Schools, clinics, and hospitals were also affected, many of which remain non-operational.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has issued an urgent directive calling on ministries and local authorities to swiftly assess and report housing damages. Local governments are tasked with identifying households whose homes were destroyed or severely damaged and are in need of rebuilding or repair.
