This action is part of the MIC's increased oversight of cross-border advertising services to ensure brand safety and to promote legal compliance among both domestic and international advertisers operating in Vietnam.

Recent monitoring by the Department of Radio, Television, and Electronic Information revealed that advertisements for several well-known brands, including P/S toothpaste, Clear and Tresemmé hair care products (owned by Unilever International Co., Ltd. Vietnam), and Coca-Cola (owned by Coca-Cola Vietnam), have appeared on platforms such as Nguoixxx.com and Dailymxxx.com.

These advertisements were found to be associated with RTB and Dailymotion and were placed on content violating Vietnamese advertising regulations.

This infringement poses a significant threat to the safety and reputation of the brands involved. In response, the Department of Radio, Television, and Electronic Information has demanded that RTB and Dailymotion cease these violations immediately.

The department has also called for the implementation of effective management measures to prevent future breaches and ensure adherence to Vietnamese legal standards in cross-border advertising.

To address these issues proactively, the Department recommends using the “Verified Content List” (“White List”) and the “Harmful, Toxic Content List” (“Black List”) to safeguard brands and maintain compliance with Vietnamese regulations.
