The second Vietnam-Republic of Korea cartoon festival to take place in Hanoi from June 13-16, according to the Korean Cultural Centre in Vietnam.
At a news conference in Hanoi on June 1, the Centre’s Director Park Nark Jong said the festival is to provide a playground for cartoon lovers and boost exchange in the cartoon field between the Rok and Vietnam.
The RoK has a developed cartoon industry with vast experience in production and promotion, he said.
Many RoK cartoon films have successfully been introduced to international audience, Park said, adding that the RoK will assist Vietnamese cartoon producers to develop their products and introduce them to the world market.
Luong Thi Minh Phuong, General Director of the Vietnam Animation Studio, said the festival is a good occasion for Vietnamese cartoon producers to learn from their RoK colleagues and introduced their products to international viewers.
The event also includes a contest for making short cartoons, which can be participated by everyone, and three best films will be assisted for further development to take part in the Chuncheon international cartoon festival in September in the RoK.
RoK-Vietnam cultural exchange forum held
A Vietnam-Republic of Korea (RoK) cultural exchange forum was held in the RoK on May 31 with an eloquent contest themed “ Leaders and leadership” in the Vietnamese and Korean languages.
The event, the fourth of its kind organised by the Association of Korean People Loving Vietnam (VESAMO), drew the participation of 500 Vietnamese and Korean students.
The cultural exchange forum was to help young people – future masters of both nations - share learning experience and promote mutual understanding, Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Pham Huu Chi said at the event.
Two first prizes were carried off by Dinh Thi Phuong Mai from Busan University of Foreign Studies and Kim Su Jeong from the University of Youngsan.
Both winners got Vietnam-RoK round-trip tickets offered by Vietnam Airlines.
